............The Gilbert Police Explorer Post #912 is organized for the purpose of providing information to young people interested in Law Enforcement and the opportunity for exposure to the different aspects of the Police organization. The post is under the auspices of the Grand Canyon Council and the Gilbert Police Department.

The members of the post are Explorers. The post is Law Enforcement oriented; however, the members of the post are not police personnel, neither sworn nor civilian. Explorers and not scouts and should never be referred to as "Explorer Scouts." Explorer is one of the phases of the Boy Scouts of America program. The Gilbert Police Explorer Post shall be a voluntary, nonprofit organization, affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America, working under the direction of the Chief of Police.
